Ogun APC 2027 Ticket Dispute Deepens as Hunye Challenges Adeola’s Candidacy

Ogun APC 2027 Ticket Dispute Deepens as Hunye Challenges Adeola’s Candidacy

A legal and political dispute has emerged within the Ogun State APC over its governorship ticket for 2027. The party recognises Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly called Yayi, as its candidate, but Abayomi Semako Hunye is challenging the primary outcome in court. Hunye says the votes announced at the primary did not reflect results recorded by his agents. He also questions how he could be screened as an aspirant and allowed to participate after the party claimed he had been suspended. The APC maintains that Adeola won the primary and that Hunye is not its recognised candidate. The disagreement escalated after the APC petitioned the police over allegations that Hunye was presenting himself as the party’s candidate. Hunye denies making that claim, insisting that he is only pursuing his case through the courts and will accept the final judgment.
