PDP Disowns Petition Challenging Adeleke’s Osun Governorship Victory
The Peoples Democratic Party has denied authorising a petition challenging Governor Ademola Adeleke’s victory in the 2026 Osun State governorship election. The denial followed the appearance of two petitions on the notice board of the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Osogbo. One of the petitions was reportedly filed in the PDP’s name. The party said its candidate, Adebayo Adedamola, had also denied filing a case against Adeleke. It called for an investigation into the alleged unauthorised use of its name and warned that those responsible could face legal action. The tribunal is also considering a separate petition linked to the election, including one filed by the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
