Inside Israel’s ‘Yellow Line’ Strategy in Southern Lebanon
Israel has set up a new ‘yellow line’ buffer in southern Lebanon. This zone blocks residents from returning and clears Hezbollah infrastructure during the ceasefire. Troops now hold three defense lines: the red line at damaged border villages, the yellow line as an anti-tank barrier, and the Litani line along the river. Forces retain the freedom to strike beyond the yellow line if needed. Over 50 villages remain off-limits. The military says any group violating the ceasefire will be targeted. Air and ground units work together to neutralise threats. Officials stress these positions protect northern Israeli communities. They describe the yellow line as a temporary frontier similar to past operations in Gaza.
