Transcorp Hotels Q3 2026: Strong Profit, but Negative Cash Flow and Rising Debt Raise Concerns
Transcorp Hotels reported revenue of ₦69.46 billion for January to September 2026, down 2.6% year-on-year, while profit after tax rose 4.8% to about ₦15.54 billion. Earnings per share increased to ₦1.52, supported by assets of ₦206.8 billion and retained earnings of ₦79.8 billion. The major concern is cash generation. Operating cash flow fell to negative ₦15.9 billion despite the reported profit, compared with positive ₦18.8 billion in the same period last year. Receivables rose to roughly ₦52 billion, including about ₦42.8 billion linked to related parties. Borrowings increased from ₦10.5 billion in December 2025 to ₦55 billion, pushing finance costs to ₦5.9 billion. The company also paid ₦13.3 billion in dividends during the period. With an annualised earnings multiple estimated at about 143 times, investors may want clearer evidence of receivables collection, positive operating cash flow and improved debt management before taking a more bullish view. Figures are unaudited and this is not financial advice.
