My Refund Nightmare with Gatenet Africa Ltd’s Faulty Router

My Refund Nightmare with Gatenet Africa Ltd’s Faulty Router — 1 of 4
1 / 4

I ordered a dual-band router from Gatenet Africa Ltd, but only the 2.4GHz band worked. I spent an extra ₦19,000 on return delivery, bringing my total cost to ₦54,000 for a defective device. I tried repeatedly to get a replacement or refund. They refused to send a working unit and declined to refund my initial ₦35,000—even after I offered to let them deduct ₦4,000 for their trouble. This experience has shaken my trust in online sellers. Always test items thoroughly before paying. It can be nearly impossible to recover your money once a faulty product is returned.

Have you checked if Gatenet Africa has a formal warranty policy or customer escalation process for faulty routers?

Good idea. We should confirm Gatenet's warranty terms and see if there's a formal complaint process before pushing for a refund.

It's surprising that Gatenet Africa didn't offer a replacement or refund despite clear product failure and your extra delivery costs.

Maybe next time it helps to confirm return and refund terms before purchasing, so you're not stuck with unexpected costs.

Document every interaction, use trackable shipping for returns, and insist on written confirmation before making any additional payments.
