Why I Support Wike While Remaining an APC Member

I am an APC member and I want APC candidates to win. But on this particular dispute, I agree with Nyesom Wike. Wike’s commitment has been to support President Bola Tinubu. He has not promised to abandon his political network, surrender his allies or deliver every governorship and legislative seat to APC. That distinction matters. APC governors are free to campaign for their candidates, but those candidates must organise, persuade voters and earn their victories. Supporting Tinubu does not give any governor ownership of every political structure aligned with the President. Wike’s networks can broaden Tinubu’s coalition without requiring him to surrender all other political interests. Partnership is not entitlement. Let every candidate fight and win their own political battles.
