Ilenikhena Doubtful as Super Eagles Face Guinea-Bissau in AFCON Qualifier
Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle says George Ilenikhena is a doubt for Nigeria’s AFCON 2027 qualifier against Guinea-Bissau after picking up a fitness concern. Ilenikhena scored on his debut in Nigeria’s comeback win over Madagascar and was expected to help cover for the absent Victor Osimhen. Chelle also disclosed that two or three players in camp are unwell. The coach said the team will assess the affected players after their final training session before deciding on the starting line-up. Akor Adams, Tolu Arokodare and Moses Usor could be needed to lead Nigeria’s attack in Bissau.
