Kaduna Troops Nab Suspect, Recover AK-47s After Attack on Forest Guards
Troops from Operation FANSAN YAMMA arrested a suspect and seized firearms after attackers ambushed forest guards and hunters in Jemaa LGA, Kaduna State. The operation on April 23 began when Sector 7 of Operation ENDURING PEACE responded to reports of assailants fleeing toward Jaginde Forest after the incident at Gidan Waya. Soldiers pursued the suspects to Ungwan Maruwa, where one suspect abandoned a motorcycle and escaped. A search of the area yielded an AK-47 rifle, an AK-49 rifle, a motorcycle and other items. A follow-up raid in Gidan Waya led to the arrest of Ahmed Musa, believed to be linked to the attack. He is now in custody as investigations continue and security forces work to dismantle the syndicate.
