Five Ogbomoso South Council Officials Resign on the Same Day
Five political appointees in Ogbomoso South Local Government Area of Oyo State have resigned, including the Chief of Staff to the council chairman, the Assistant Secretary and three Supervisory Councillors. Their resignations took effect immediately on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The Supervisory Councillors oversaw Works and Special Duties, Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Community Development Affairs. The departures leave vacancies in those roles and in the Chief of Staff and Assistant Secretary positions. In their letters to the council chairman, the officials thanked him for the opportunity to serve. None gave a specific reason for resigning. The exits come amid political realignments in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general elections. However, the letters did not link the resignations to disagreements with the administration or plans to join another party. No official explanation had been issued by the local or state government, or the Allied Peoples Movement, at the time of reporting.
