Anambra Police Arrest Man, Recover Pump-Action Gun and 50 Cartridges

Police in Anambra State have arrested a 49-year-old man after allegedly recovering a pump-action gun and 50 live cartridges from him in Idemili North Local Government Area. The Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, reportedly made the arrest during an intelligence-led operation along Nkpor Road on Monday, August 17. Police said the suspect could not provide a satisfactory explanation for possessing the firearm and ammunition. The command has opened an investigation to trace the source of the weapon and determine whether it is linked to armed robbery, other crimes, or any planned criminal activity.
