Former England Defender Steven Caulker Shares Struggle to Find Coaching Work
Former England and Liverpool defender Steven Caulker says unemployment has been difficult as he searches for his next coaching role. Caulker retired from professional football in December 2025 after a 16-year career that took him to 17 clubs, including Tottenham, Swansea, Cardiff, QPR, Liverpool and Fenerbahce. He later spent eight months as an assistant manager at Turkish side Konyaspor before leaving in September. The 34-year-old said job applications and rejections can be frustrating, even when he meets the requirements. He added that exercise and a daily routine have helped him remain calm and focused while waiting for the right opportunity.
