Netanyahu Claims Major Strides in Campaign Against Iran and Militant Groups
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the IDF Northern Command with Defence Minister Israel Katz and Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir. He said Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas are weaker now thanks to sustained operations. He praised a multi-front campaign that has disrupted leadership structures in Tehran. He pointed to the reported death of former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in 2024 and the removal of a major missile threat to Israeli cities. Netanyahu acknowledged that Hezbollah still retains some rocket capacity. He said military leaders are planning steps to fully eliminate the remaining threat. Media reports suggest Israel may invite the United States to relocate or establish bases on its soil after the war. European leaders have criticised recent restrictions on Palm Sunday worship in Jerusalem as a breach of religious freedom.
