Dineo Ranaka Condemns Podcast Hosts Over Jokes About Missing Runner Later Found Dead

South African broadcaster Dineo Ranaka has criticised former colleagues MacG and Sol Phenduka over jokes made during a podcast episode about the disappearance of runner Elizabeth Tsontso Moselakgomo, who was later found dead. The episode was recorded while Moselakgomo was still missing. After a clip circulated online, Phenduka apologised and described his remark as an unfortunate pun, admitting that humour about a missing person was distasteful. Ranaka said an apology could not undo the harm suffered by victims or their families. She urged media personalities to treat cases involving violence, sexual assault and death with greater care rather than turning them into entertainment for views and ratings.
