Ondo Group Questions Aiyedatiwa’s Reappointment of Former SSG After Senate Bid
The Ondo Redemption Front has criticised Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s reappointment of Dr Taiwo Fasoranti as Secretary to the State Government after he resigned to contest a Senate seat. The group said leaving the SSG position vacant for months showed weak coordination. It argued that such a key office should not be treated as a political position that can be vacated and reclaimed at will. It also called for an investigation into alleged administrative bottlenecks in the Ministry of Finance and demanded full disclosure on the cost, procurement process, funding and contractor for the Akure flyover project. The group further raised concerns about roads, hospitals, schools and insecurity in rural communities. The governor’s spokesperson dismissed the allegations as baseless and politically motivated. He said the governor has the right to appoint his cabinet and maintained that details of the flyover project are publicly available.
