The Sabbath as a Sign of God’s Sanctifying Power
Ezekiel 20:12 presents the Sabbath as a sign between God and His people, reminding them that He is the Lord who sanctifies them. The message reflects on the Sabbath as a memorial of creation and a reminder of God’s power to redeem and make His people holy. For believers, the Sabbath points to Christ as Creator, Redeemer and head of the church. It recalls the peace lost in Eden and the rest available through Jesus to everyone who comes to Him in faith. Prayer: Heavenly Father, help us to honour Your Sabbath and live in obedience to You. Forgive our sins, give us victory over temptation, provide for our needs, and grant us good health to testify of Your goodness. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Feel free to share your testimonies and prayer requests. This devotional reflection is adapted from Maranatha, page 244.
