The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old man accused of impersonating businessman Linus Williams, popularly known as BLord, on TikTok and allegedly defrauding members of the public. Police said the suspect allegedly used BLord’s photos and videos to convince victims to send money. The case involves an allegation of false representation under Anambra State law. BLord said the impersonator’s account had gained a large following and was used to collect payments running into millions of naira and thousands of dollars. He said several victims reported the matter to the police after being directed to his offices. The matter was scheduled for a Magistrate Court in Amawbia, but the court did not sit. The suspect was returned to the State Criminal Investigation Department while the case proceeds.
