Ifa Guidance: Use Reason and Research Before Seeking Divination

Ifa teaches that I should first use my reasoning before turning to divination. Questions I can answer through common sense, research or personal observation should not be taken to Ifa. I should think deeply, seek advice from others, use available tools such as artificial intelligence and online research, then consult Ifa only on matters that remain unclear. This teaching is reflected in Osa Iwori, which presents Imoran, meaning advice, as coming before the casting of ikin. The message is that wisdom, reflection and counsel should guide my decisions before divination.
