NDLEA Arrests 101-Year-Old Ogun Woman as Cocaine Is Found Hidden in Fufu

The NDLEA says it arrested 101-year-old Esther Ogunmabo in Ilisan, Ogun State, after allegedly finding 90 grammes of skunk cannabis packaged in retail sachets. She reportedly told officers that she began selling the substance after her provisions shop was destroyed by fire. The agency said a daughter living in Lagos allegedly supplied her every four days. NDLEA directed that the woman be granted bail and counselled because of her age, while the daughter was arrested. In a separate operation off the Akwa Ibom coast, officers intercepted a boat allegedly transporting drugs to fishing settlements in Cameroon. Three suspects were arrested, with cocaine reportedly concealed inside a wrap of fufu and more than 42kg of narcotics recovered in total.
