Rivers Police Arrest Three Suspects Over Killing of Two Officers, Recover Rifles

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested three suspects over the killing of two police officers during a stop-and-search operation in the Aluu Division area on June 29. The attack also led to the theft of the officers' service rifles. Police said the Commissioner of Police ordered the deployment of operational and intelligence teams to identify the attackers and recover the weapons. Operatives of the Violence Crime Response Unit arrested the three suspects after intelligence-led operations. Police recovered three AK-47 rifles and a Scorpion rifle. The command said the suspects have also been linked to other murder cases under investigation. Efforts are ongoing to arrest a fourth gang member who remains at large.
