Three Nigerian Women Arrested in Ghana for Trafficking Four Young Girls, 265 Condoms Seized
In early July, Ghana Police in the Upper East Region arrested three Nigerian nationals for human trafficking. Authorities say Peace Agbede, Favour Sunday Udo and Faith Levi lured young women to Ghana with false promises. One victim was forced into daily prostitution at a mining site in Gbane-Tongo, paying 400 Ghana Cedis to her traffickers. When she fell pregnant and gave birth on June 26, the suspects even attempted to sell her newborn for 20,000 Ghana Cedis. Police recovered 265 unused condoms and six sales ledgers during the operation. Four female victims aged 18 to 20 were rescued. The suspects remain in custody ahead of court proceedings.
