Ekiti Awards ₦6.5 Million to Teachers and Administrators With Disabilities
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji awarded a combined ₦6.5 million to outstanding teachers and administrators in special schools during the 2026 World Teachers’ Day celebration in Ado-Ekiti. The top teacher award of ₦2 million went to Ruth Olaniyi of the Government Special School for the Deaf, Ikoro-Ekiti. Other awardees included Adenike Adebayo, Christianah Ojo, Olaide Adu and Rasak Salami from special education institutions across the state. The state government also said it has equipped its 203 public secondary schools with ICT facilities and interactive boards. It added that internet has been deployed in 125 schools, while renovation, fencing and CCTV projects are ongoing in public schools.
