FG Approves Design for Lagos Airport Monorail Linking Ikeja Red Line to MMIA

The Federal Government has approved the design for a Lagos Airport Monorail that will connect the Ikeja Red Line station to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Terminal 1. The proposed route will have five stations: Ikeja, Domestic Airport, Beesam, Toll Gate and the international airport terminal. It is intended to reduce traffic delays around the airport corridor and provide a direct rail connection for passengers travelling to domestic and international terminals. The project forms part of the wider reconstruction of MMIA Terminal 1. If completed, travellers could transfer from the Lagos Red Line at Ikeja and continue to the airport by rail instead of relying solely on Airport Road.
