Should I Take Back My Ex If She Leaves Her Marriage?
I met a woman at NYSC camp about two years ago, and we started a serious relationship. A few months later, her family began pressuring her to marry a man who had shown interest in her. She assured me she would not leave me, but after NYSC, she eventually agreed to the marriage because I was not financially ready and she wanted to settle down before turning 30. I later found out the man was actually her ex, which she had not told me. She also said pastors believed they were spiritually compatible, while she and I were not. Her bride price was paid, but she later told me she would leave him if I could raise money for her bride price and a proper wedding. I tried to make it happen through my business, but I could not afford it. We have remained on and off as friends. She recently told me she is tired of the marriage and wants to leave. She says that if I am still available after everything is over, she would like us to start again. I still have feelings for her, but I am struggling with trust. She also used to give me the silent treatment, get angry easily and insult me during disagreements. If she leaves her marriage, would it be wise to take her back and try again, or should I let the relationship go completely? Can a marriage work after this much broken trust and emotional hurt?
