Ogun State has transformed a long-abandoned hospital project in Abeokuta into the Gateway Medical Centre of Excellence, a 250-bed tertiary health facility. The centre is reported to have operating theatres, intensive care facilities and advanced diagnostic services. It is expected to expand access to specialist treatment for residents of Ogun State and nearby communities. Can the facility reduce the need for Nigerians to travel abroad for treatment?
