Benue MACBAN Chairman and Companion Gunned Down in Otukpo Ambush
Ardo Muhammad, the Benue State chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, and his companion Yakubu Isah were ambushed and killed in Otukpo Local Government Area. They had attended a peace meeting convened by the Divisional Police Officer in Ohinmini to address clashes in Ayunne community. On their return, gunmen attacked their vehicle at Okudu community, killing both occupants. Local government chairmen Maxwell Ogiri of Otukpo and Adole Gabriel of Ohinmini confirmed the incident, warning that tensions have risen in affected communities. They urged residents to stay calm as security forces work to restore order. DSP Udeme Edet of the Benue State Police Command said the report is under investigation. Otukpo and neighbouring Ohinmini LGAs have suffered repeated attacks by suspected armed herders in recent months.
