The Benue State Police Command says it rescued 29 kidnap victims and arrested 48 suspects during operations across the state in October. The arrests included 34 foreign nationals whose immigration status is being verified. Police said joint security teams rescued four passengers abducted in Logo, 17 farmers taken from communities in Bamun Village, and eight victims, including a Catholic priest, abducted in Ohimini. Two suspects were arrested in connection with the Ohimini case. The command also recovered locally made firearms and ammunition, and said it is investigating cases involving alleged child abuse, homicide, cult violence and the alleged sexual abuse of a 10-year-old girl.
