Harry Redknapp has questioned whether Michael Carrick has the forceful personality needed to manage Manchester United. The former West Ham manager said Carrick was an intelligent and technically gifted player but was always quiet and laid-back. Carrick is under growing pressure after Manchester United won only one of their opening six Premier League matches, leaving them 13th in the table. The club have also exited the EFL Cup and lost to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. Questions over the team’s tactics, defensive shape and lack of a clear identity have intensified.
