Sowore Demands Evidence on Alleged $2.4bn Subsidy Fraud and Kidnapping Link
AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has asked WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to provide evidence identifying those allegedly involved in a $2.4 billion oil subsidy fraud. Sowore also questioned claims that the 2012 abduction of Okonjo-Iweala’s mother was connected to her anti-corruption efforts as Nigeria’s finance minister. He called for audit reports, investigation records, prosecution details and evidence linking the alleged fraud to the kidnapping. He further alleged that police investigations pointed to palace guards, relatives and domestic workers in the abduction. However, the statement did not include specific case files, court records or other documents to support the claims.
