Wike Approves ₦31.49bn Solar Streetlight Project for Key Abuja Locations

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has approved a ₦31.49 billion contract to provide and install solar and modular hybrid streetlights at key locations across Abuja. The Abuja Metropolitan Management Council said the project is intended to improve night-time visibility, strengthen security and upgrade urban infrastructure in the capital. The FCT Executive Council also ratified ₦5.96 billion for waste collection across 40 districts, ₦2.21 billion for the operation and maintenance of the Wupa Basin Sewage Treatment Plant, and other facility-maintenance and waste-evacuation contracts.
