EFCC Says It Recovered ₦1.23tn, $684m and Other Assets in 34 Months

EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede says the commission recovered more than ₦1.23 trillion, $684.48 million, £373,905 and €9.34 million in proceeds of crime between October 2023 and June 2026. He said about ₦397.26 billion, or 33 percent of the naira recoveries, went directly to the Federal Government. The remaining ₦836.34 billion was recovered for ministries, agencies, state revenue services, companies, individuals and foreign victims. Olukoyede added that the EFCC released ₦661.32 billion and $492.37 million to beneficiaries within the period. He also said enforcement of tax obligations generated about ₦288.1 billion in federal and state tax recoveries.
