Veteran Nollywood Actor Olu Jacobs Dies at 84

Veteran Nigerian actor and film executive Olu Jacobs has died at the age of 84. His son, Olusoji Jacobs, announced the death on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. He described his father as “The Lion of Lufodo” and said the family was grateful to God for his life and legacy. The family appealed to bloggers, social media influencers and the public to respect their privacy as they mourn. Olu Jacobs was widely celebrated for his work across stage, television and film, as well as his contributions to the growth of Nollywood.
