Ghanaian Man Seeks GH¢450,000 After DNA Test Dispute Over Child’s Paternity
A man from Abrepo Junction in Ghana’s Ashanti Region says he is demanding GH¢450,000 from his wife after a DNA test allegedly showed that their two-year-old son is not his biological child. He said he married her after she became pregnant and later faced church sanctions over their premarital relationship. According to him, the marriage was marked by disputes, suspicions of infidelity and accusations that he failed to support the family. The man said the matter was reported to Ghana’s domestic violence unit, after which he requested a DNA test. He claims the result left him devastated after spending money on the wedding and the child’s upkeep. He is seeking GH¢450,000 as compensation, although the legal basis and his wife’s response were not provided.
