Family Vacation Ends in Tragedy as 2-Year-Old Fatally Shot by 4-Year-Old Cousin
A family trip to Florida to celebrate a boy’s third birthday turned into a nightmare when a 4-year-old cousin found an unsecured handgun in the vehicle and accidentally shot the 2-year-old. The incident happened just before 4 p.m. on a Sunday at a rental community in Kissimmee. Adults had stepped out to check into their accommodation, leaving the children unattended in the car. The toddler was rushed to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children but was later pronounced dead. Relatives described the little boy as sweet and full of life. Investigators say the firearm belonged to the toddler’s mother and was left unholstered inside the car. The sheriff’s office is reviewing the case and charges may follow.
