Soludo’s Aide Denies Peter Obi Is Godfather to Governor’s Children

Daniel Ezeigwe, media aide to Anambra First Lady Nonye Soludo, has denied Peter Obi’s claim that he and his wife are godparents to Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s children. Obi had said at the Nigerian Guild of Editors Conference in Enugu that his family and the Soludos were close, despite political differences. He added that he had no personal quarrel with the governor. Ezeigwe said Obi is not a godfather to any of the Soludos’ children. He clarified that Nonye Soludo is confirmation godmother to Obi’s daughter, while Margaret Obi is baptismal godmother to one of the Soludos’ daughters. He said the families remain cordial and suggested Obi may have misspoken.
