Enugu Gives ₦77m Support to 77 Families Returning From South Africa
Enugu State has welcomed 112 indigenes from 77 families who returned from South Africa following reported xenophobic attacks and hostility toward African migrants. The state government presented ₦1 million to each family as a seed fund to support their resettlement and rebuilding efforts. It said about 42 additional returnee families were still being profiled with the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission. Governor Peter Mbah urged the returnees to use the skills, business experience and networks they gained abroad to pursue opportunities in Enugu. The returnees thanked the state for the support and said it had renewed their hope.
