NAF 931 Crash: Squadron Leader Man-Ugwueje Among 25 Killed in Ondo
A Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft, NAF 931, crashed near Igbokoda, Ondo State, on 5 October 2026 while travelling from Benin City to Lagos. All 25 people on board, including five crew members and 20 passengers, died in the crash. Squadron Leader Ahamefule Man-Ugwueje, one of the co-pilots, was among those lost. He had married Flight Lieutenant Damilola Adekunle, a colleague, just 16 days before the tragedy. A video said to have been recorded shortly before the flight shows crew members carrying out routine work around the aircraft. The Nigerian Air Force has confirmed the victims, while the Federal Government declared three days of national mourning. An investigation into the crash is underway.
