Dangote Refinery Deploys AI Platform With Projected $60m Annual Gains
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has deployed an artificial intelligence platform to analyse operations in real time, identify production bottlenecks and detect possible equipment problems before they disrupt output. The platform, Forge Plant Cognition, was introduced by Honeywell in collaboration with NVIDIA and Dell Technologies. Honeywell estimates it could deliver more than $60 million in annual operational benefits when the refinery reaches full capacity, though the figure is a projection rather than a guaranteed return. The deployment supports the refinery’s plan to expand from 650,000 barrels per day to 1.4 million barrels per day by 2028. The technology is also expected to give Nigerian engineers faster access to specialised operational insights and help improve equipment performance.
