Nollywood Stars Attend Lagos Premiere of Crime Drama ‘19’ on Internet Fraud
Nollywood actors, filmmakers and entertainment personalities gathered in Lekki, Lagos, for the Nigerian premiere of ‘19’, a crime drama written and directed by Tola Odunsi. Toyin Abraham, Kunle Afolayan, Deyemi Okanlawon, Wale Ojo, Femi Adebayo and Kunle Remi were among the guests. The film stars Stan Nze as Ndubuisi Madueke, a young man drawn into internet fraud by desperation and the influence of a wealthy mentor. Its cast also includes Sola Sobowale, Bisola Aiyeola, William Benson, Ademola Adedoyin, Boma Akpore and Helen Enado Odigie. ‘19’ examines how poverty, unemployment, corruption, peer pressure and the pursuit of quick wealth can push young people towards cybercrime. The title references Section 419 of Nigeria’s Criminal Code, commonly linked with advance-fee fraud. The film opens in Nigerian cinemas on September 11.
