Borno Police Rescue 7-Year-Old in Maiduguri Kidnap, Arrest Five and Recover N1.5m Ransom

The Borno State Police Command secured a major victory in Maiduguri’s Chad Basin area. On March 23, unknown gunmen abducted a 7-year-old boy and later demanded N10m, which was negotiated down to N8m. Detectives traced a N1.5m payment to a POS operator, Musa Mohammed Bashir, and arrested him. Further operations led to the capture of four more suspects – Ali Adam, Abubakar Sadiq, Abba Goni Abba and Mohammed Musa. The child was rescued unharmed, medically evaluated and safely reunited with his family. Under CP Naziru Abdulmajid’s leadership, the command praised its officers for the swift breakthrough. The police urged residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest station.
