Enugu Aviation Summit Opens Career Pathways for South-East Youth
More than 50 students, aviation enthusiasts and industry stakeholders gathered in Enugu for the second South-East Aviation Summit Eastwing Youth Competition. The October 3 event introduced young participants to career options in piloting, aircraft maintenance, cabin crew services, air traffic operations, aviation security and safety oversight. Speakers stressed that aviation requires technical skills, discipline, practical experience and recognised professional certifications. They also called for more credible and accessible training opportunities within Nigeria, noting that high training costs and limited regional capacity remain barriers for many aspiring professionals. The summit recognised its top 10 competition candidates, with Felix Favour Chinecherem emerging overall winner. Organisers said the programme aims to identify talent early and connect young Nigerians with guidance, training and pathways into the aviation industry.
