NUJ Condemns Ikire Killings, Urges New Osun Police Commissioner to Act
The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Osun State Council, has condemned the killing of two people near the Naira and Kobo Motor Park in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area. The union also condemned the attack on a police patrol team that responded to the distress call. Two officers were injured and a patrol vehicle was destroyed. It urged the Osun State Police Command to investigate the violence, arrest those responsible and improve intelligence-led policing, community engagement and rapid response. Residents and community leaders were also asked to provide credible information to security agencies.
