Warning to Buyers: Sumail Ventures Facebook Page Scam Exposed

Warning to Buyers: Sumail Ventures Facebook Page Scam Exposed — 1 of 3
1 / 3

I ordered a used Infinix Hot 8 for ₦35,000 from Sumail Ventures on Facebook. Delivery was confirmed, but the phone never arrived. The “driver” first asked me to pay a waybill, then vanished after taking the money. He resurfaced the next day with a new excuse and demanded another payment. When I refused and asked to meet in person, he declined and suggested I send cash to another city. Sumail himself blocked me when I asked for my refund. My grandmother even called him on my behalf, but he still refused. A second victim has come forward with the same story, so this pattern is confirmed. Please save and avoid these contacts: • 08133305640 (WhatsApp for Sumail Ventures) • 09135120951 (Call for Sumail Ventures) • 09130660304 (Park Manager / Ticket Man) • 08103365444 (Driver) I just want my ₦35,000 back. Share this warning so no one else falls for this scam.

Has anyone else encountered similar tactics from fraudsters posing as sellers on Facebook marketplaces?

For sure! I also bumped into sellers who disappear after payment.

I'm not sure fraudsters use that exact trick often, I've bought from plenty of legit Facebook sellers.

Scammers often pivot excuses after payment, so it's hard to trust delivery confirmations alone.

Not every failed sale is fraud; sometimes logistics or mix-ups cause delays. We shouldn't label every mishap a scam.

Before paying, ask for seller's additional photos, use tracked shipping services, and verify seller feedback across multiple sources.
