Lagos Court Remands Man Over Alleged Assault on 18-Year-Old Partner
A Lagos magistrate’s court has ordered that 32-year-old Emeka Joseph be held at Kirikiri Correctional Centre. He faces three charges: assault causing bodily harm, fighting and breach of public peace. The alleged victim, an 18-year-old identified as Chisom, was taken to Isolo General Hospital with serious injuries following the incident at their home in Isheri Oshun. Investigations revealed their marriage was not legally registered. After widespread concern, the State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency intervened, placing Chisom in protective care. The case returns to court on August 3 for further hearing.
