Dangote Confirms Fertiliser Business IPO Plan for 2028
Aliko Dangote says Dangote Group plans to list its fertiliser business on the stock market in 2028, opening it to public investment. Speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum, Dangote also responded to humorous online posts by retail investors in the Dangote Petroleum Refinery offer. He joked that new shareholders had already begun calling for a board meeting. Dangote Fertiliser operates a $2.5 billion urea plant in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, with capacity of about three million tonnes yearly. The group plans to raise output to about 12 million tonnes annually by 2028 through expansion in Nigeria and a proposed plant in Ethiopia.
