Kano Police Reaffirm Restrictions on Public Durbar and Horse-Riding Events
The Kano State Police Command has restated restrictions on durbar and horse-riding activities in public places, citing the need to protect public peace and maintain order. The Commissioner of Police said the restriction was introduced by the state government after consultations with security agencies. He warned that the security concerns behind the directive still remain. Organisers, institutions and traditional groups intending to hold such events must submit a written request to the police at least 72 hours in advance. The notice will allow security agencies to assess risks and make arrangements to protect participants and residents.
