Kano Police Arrest Man Accused of Using AI Images to Impersonate CSP and Defraud Victims
Kano State Police Command has arrested 35-year-old Adamu Musa for allegedly impersonating a Chief Superintendent of Police and defrauding members of the public. Police said Musa allegedly claimed to have influence over recruitment, postings and transfers in the Nigeria Police Force. He reportedly used edited photographs and AI-generated images showing himself with senior police officers to convince victims to pay for assistance. Officers from the Panshekara Police Division arrested him after receiving intelligence about his activities. Police said a search of his premises recovered uniforms, shoes and ₦300,000. The suspect is in custody and will be charged after investigations are concluded. The command warned residents that police recruitment is free and urged the public to verify anyone soliciting money for recruitment, transfers or postings.
