Calls Grow for Review of Reported ₦30,000 Airport-to-Ikeja Fare
The editor of Transport Day Media has criticised the reported ₦30,000 fare for a trip from Murtala Muhammed International Airport to a hotel in Ikeja, describing it as excessive compared with rates on ride-hailing platforms. He said airport transport must be safe, regulated and reliable, but passengers should not face charges that are far above prevailing market rates for short trips. He warned that such pricing could harm visitors’ first impression of Nigeria. He urged the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and other stakeholders to review the airport car-hire fare structure, display fares clearly, strengthen complaint channels and consider integrating e-hailing operators under appropriate security rules.
