Nigerian Junior Tennis Star Ogunsakin Climbs to No. 59 in ITF Rankings
Nigeria’s Oluwaseun Ogunsakin has climbed to No. 59 in the latest ITF junior rankings after winning his second J200 title of the year in Cairo. He beat France’s Matisse Martin 7-5, 6-3 in the final. ITF records make Ogunsakin the second-highest-ranked Nigerian junior since combined rankings began in 2004. The 17-year-old has competed at all three junior Grand Slams in 2026. He reached the Wimbledon Junior doubles semi-finals and qualified for the US Open Junior main draw. He also played in the Roland Garros Junior main draw. Ogunsakin is Nigeria’s top-ranked junior and is expected to move towards the professional circuit in 2027. The report notes that he previously reached No. 58, so No. 59 is not his career-high ranking.
