Anambra Trains Airport and Transport Workers for Ebola Response
The Anambra State Ministry of Health has trained airport medical staff, transport workers and ambulance personnel on how to detect, report and safely manage suspected Ebola cases. The one-day training held on October 28 focused on disease surveillance, early warning signs, infection prevention and the safe referral of suspected patients. Participants were also taught the importance of prompt communication between frontline workers, health authorities and designated treatment facilities. Health officials and a World Health Organization representative took part in the session. The state said the exercise is part of efforts to strengthen preparedness for Ebola and other public health emergencies.
