Ghana Seek First AFCON Qualifying Win Over Côte d’Ivoire in Bouaké

Ghana face Côte d’Ivoire in Bouaké in their opening Group C match of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers, seeking their first-ever qualifying victory over the Elephants. The teams have met four times in AFCON qualifying campaigns, with Côte d’Ivoire winning three matches and drawing one. Ghana have beaten their rivals at AFCON finals before, but have never done so in the qualifying series. The Black Stars will be without Mohammed Kudus, Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew and Thomas Partey. Côte d’Ivoire have home advantage and a squad featuring Franck Kessié, Nicolas Pépé and Yan Diomandé. Group C also includes The Gambia and Somalia.
